Maybe I am just not cut out for this

Fostering puppies is so rewarding. You take a dog of the streets or out of an abusive or neglected situation and offer them love, food, a warm place to sleep and a few foster sisters to play with until their forever wonderful home comes along. In theory it’s all great; in practice it’s a bit harder than that!

Maybe I am just not cut out for this or jellybeanbaby has mommy extra emotional, but giving up a pooch that has spent a little over three months amongst our family is hard. They become part of your routine, part of your family. It is made even harder when they are true keepers. Thank God Ricardo and I aren’t homeowners with land because I think most of them would come for a visit and end up staying forever.

My TchickyBoom, as of today will be Wendy’s TchickyBoom. Tchix has found the best forever home and will be adopted this morning at 10. After spending numerous hours on the phone with Tchix’s new mommy as well as spending some one on one time with her and her fantastic family, we realized we are from the same circle of friends. They live nearby and have promised updates and pictures and, if I am lucky maybe, a few visits.

Cheers Tchix,
for finding your much deserved forever home!

Birthday Goodness!

January 23rd 2010
Birthday Goodness!

While there is nothing in the world I hate more than being sung happy birthday, I love celebrating my birthday with loved ones. Your birthday is always a nice time to be reminded as to how many wonderfully beautiful people we have in our lives.
This year, however, is especially special because this year we will be welcoming a little bundle of love. While we often find time passes to fast, right now it isn’t passing fast enough. Since December 1st, when we found out, I’ve been anxious for Christmas to go by, the New Year to pass, my Birthday, and even my love for winter and snow has been ignored by wanting summer to come. We are just so curious, Ricardo and I, to meet him or her, the little one swishing around in my belly. We wanna see its beautiful face and kiss its beautiful cheeks. But apparently patience is the only way to win this battle.
Oh August how I long for you!

On that note, I leave you with two absolutely fantastic pictures. A gift from baby’s Grand-pa, a true Montrealer and Hockey fan!

Let's Offer our Support!

Hi there everyone,

A short blog post today simply to mention and draw your attention to two new links I have posted on the side bar to your right.

While driving to work this morning and every day since the disaster in Haiti, the radio stations stories and prayers for help and support got to me. With a baby on the way, it struck me pretty hard when one of the people speaking on the radio this morning was telling the story of volunteers helping women deliver their babies on the street pavements due to lack of medical help. I opened my computer, first thing this morning and decided that I had to help.
Doctors without Borders are offering as much help as possible but they need your, our help.

While the first thing I did this morning was donate to msf.org I continued my morning routine of checking my daily blogs when I discovered an online shop called Craft for Hope Haiti. Artists have come together and donated their creations for you to purchase. The cost of your purchase is then donated directly to Doctors without Borders Haiti. How cool is that!?

Go check it out! :)

Even the pooches were excited to hear the news!

Doggy Forts and Sandwiches

The love and best thing about having dogs is that I am never alone. During my late nights creating in my office, my doggies and foster pup are always by my side. Usually I have one sleeping under my desk at my feet, another sleeping on the retro couch right beside my desk and my little pup sleeping on my office chair acting as a very nice back support and heat pad … but sometimes having three dogs isn’t so calming, like when they decide they are gonna build forts so, to counter their ‘childish’ behaviour my husband built a doggy fort-sandwich with them.
Hope these pictures make you smile!

Clara was to sleepy and is to old to fight daddy on the fact of how ridiculous his idea was.
Mika will never miss the chance to be in the middle of the action
and have a few pictures taken of her.
Tchix wouldn't participate even if you paid her in doggy cookies.
She stayed very far, seated, watching, ears up and head sideways
going: 'These foster parents are by far the weirdest I've ever had!'
